A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen. The choice plated blade on this one looks great! It has a wonderful mirror like finish. The broad sword “Paul Weyersberg Solingen” maker mark and proof stamp just above it are beautifully executed. It has a perfect tip and fit. The blade on this one rates a Exc++. There is spotting, spidering plating lifting and scratches throughout. The original blue pebbled buffer pad remains intact. The steel based airplane grey plated scabbard looks excellent. It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free. The single headless retaining screw remain intact and unturned. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum pommel is beautifully hand enhanced to the sides and has those two proud gold gilded swastika you want to see, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. The early trylon grip has aged to a warm orange over time. It has minor spotting and one chip under the ferrule. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. Textbook Paul Weyersberg construction. A very nice example.
