M31 Canteen 1938. The 0.8 liter canteen is made out of an aluminum base. It is covered in a brown/olive felt covering that is secured with four decorative “S.H.B.” marked buttons. There is a tanned black leather strap holding the canteen and black aluminum cup. The back clip and equipment loop are both marked. There is some crazing to the stress point on the leather. The leather is ripped at the very bottom lug.
