A Model 1934 - Schutzstaffel Ehrendolch mit Widmung by Robert Klaas of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and small kissing cranes “Robert Klaas Solingen” maker mark are both beautifully executed. This small version of the logo was only used on Rohm daggers and is rarely seen. The Rohm inscription removal was a backyard job. The hit the edge just below the "M" in Meine leaving a rough spot you can find with your fingers. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks good. There is a few hits to the obverse of the body. It continues to hold a nice dark finish and some lacquer remains. The nickel-silver based scabbard fitting are intact with the ball having taken a good hit. All four scabbard screws remain intact, the top two being replacements. The scabbard to crossguard fit is quite fine The nickel-silver crossguards look excellent as well, matching the crossguards perfectly in color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamp “III” (Berlin). The black died hardwood grip is in good shape with no cracks but a chip to the upper right obverse. There are normal pressure marks. The solid nickel-silver eagle is nicely detailed with a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Overall a fine looking piece.
