3 Sport Shirt Insignia
3 Sportabzeichen. The sports shirt eagle was introduced on July 4th 1935 and was to be worn on the front center chest of the white sleeveless sports shirt. It is constructed out of a machine embroidered black and white cotton thread to a white rayon base. The rectangular obverse depicts an eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika within its talons on a half-moon white cotton base and a white rectangular rayon base. It measures approx 10 inches long by 5 inches tall. A good display piece. Included are Army, Navy and Luft eagles.
