A model 1937 dagger for Luftwaffe officer, with double etched blade. Burnished aluminum cross-guard, pommel and steel ferrule. Orange coloured celluloid grip. Airplane grey finished steel scabbard retains majority of original airplane grey finish. A textbook configuration Eickhorn Luftwaffe Dagger. The polished blade looks excellent. Though unmarked it has a textbook Eickhorn etch is beautifully executed. The tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at Exc++ with some age. The tip looks to have been blunted at some point and it has been touched up. The pebbled blue leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and "airplane gray" finished. It remains completely dent free. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum based crossguard has nice detail with burnish to the backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side hand enhanced oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent. The trylon grip has minor wear and the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. A great example of an Eickhorn 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger. Rare pattern here.
