WKC 2nd Model Navy

Here we have a 2nd Model Navy Dagger (Kriegsmarine Dolch) by WKC - Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie AG of Solingen. The fouled anchor blade remains in excellent shape! The early stamped WKC under a knight's head maker mark looks great, the etch is beautifully executed! The blade rates an easy NM. The red felt buffer pad remains intact. The brass based, gold washed, lightning bolt scabbard has lost it's gilt from normal wear. It is hand chased, remains dent free and truly it's in great shape! The hilt and crossguard look great with all matching patina. The trylon grip has no chips and cracks. There must have been a portepee on it at some point as the grip is a bight lighter at the base where it would have been protected from the sun. The original double-twist wire wrap is tightly secured and correctly placed. The button works well. The pommel is an early "replacement" that would have been purchased in 1938 to upgrade from a 1st model Navy per regulations. Peek at Witty's reference pg 273 if you want to check me.
