British World War 2 No5 MK5 Bino Prism 7x50 binoculars made by "RL" Ross, Nottingham instruments Ltd. The binoculars are in excellent condition and excellent working order. Lovely sharp image though the optics, age related light internal dust residue, no mold or fungus to lenses. Features The red-painted screws cover dry air ports for de-misting when required. The binoculars are also fitted with graticules - a series of marks visible when observing that allow one to work out the sizes of distant objects. The Mark 5 was a military specification for the British Army that was also made by other firms. The pattern was introduced in 1936. Examples were apparently still in use in the British Army as recently as 2015.. Binoculars are the original British military leather case, is in excellent condition with front buckle, carry strap, carry loop and rear belt loops all intact, was made by B.H & G Ltd and is dated 1944. the strap for the lid is broke off at the buckle and missing.
