Austrian 1898
The medal was founded by Emperor Franz Joseph I in commemoration of the the 50th anniversary of his reign. It was conferred upon any military or civil personnel within the Empire that had served in law enforcement or the Armed Forces between December 2, 1848-December 2, 1898. The medal dies were cut by J. Tautenhayn, Junior.
