A Luftwaffen Schützenschnur - Grade 1-4 (matte silver). Introduced September 30, 1936, the Luftwaffe marksmen lanyard replaced the previous Luftwaffe sleeve stripes. It is constructed out of a die stamped aluminum alloy base that has been silver washed. The oval shaped obverse features a 2nd pattern Luftwaffe eagle surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath, that is tied together at the bottom. The hollow-back reverse features four crimped-on tombak round wire prongs. It measures 1 5/8 inches wide by 2 inches tall.
