Another Eickhorn Field Marshal sword named after a famous German leader,Friedrich Graf von Wrangel. The 35" plated blade, ( Wow the origial owner was big!) rates Mint- being bright and clean with no damage. The blade is correctly stamped with the mid period Eickhorn maker mark. It's illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 77 and is known as Model 1693. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent-free. It has good paint with the usual scuffs and some minor crazing. This is the more desirable early brass example with some wear to the high areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand enhanced detail to the huge oak-leaf that is cast there. The "P" guard has an oak leaf and acorn motif. This pattern is continued everywhere including the ferule, backstrap and P-guard. The obverse languet features an open-winged right facing eagle. The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect shape without any chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple aluminum wire that is perfect.
