Here's a killer Luftwaffe Offizierschwert, (Officer’s Sword). Ok, so if you don't know what you are looking at just scroll. Here's an early nickel silver beauty with tons of lacquer! Look at the fittings. You never find these things in this condition any more. This retains 90% of the factory lacquer to the sliver plated, solid nickel fittings. Yes sometimes you find these black as can be but this one is one step better!! The black is where the air has got at the silver, the light areas are where the lacquer has protected the silver from the air. The blade looks awesome! The etched maker mark is beautifully executed. The blade has no sharpening or pitting and includes a pristine tip. The blade rates an easy Mint. If you think you see some flaw in the blade pics it's due to a reflection or my photo skills. The leather buffer is intact. The hilt fittings are all nickel with inserted brass swas's, which all look awesome by the way! The grip is double wire wrapped in brass springy wire. There hardly any wear to the grip leather and the scabbard's body leather is pristine! 99.9% coverage with only the slightest pressure marks. The pommel is correctly hand enhanced with wee oak leaves and acorns. The pommels maintains the silver wash between the swastika legs, a feature that is rare to see any more, most have been polished by collector after collector. All headless scabbard screws are present. All the patina matches. To top it all off this piece comes with a hanger in excellent shape. This is for the fussy guy.
