Army Buckle Dransfeld

It is constructed of a single piece of die struck steel that has been painted. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a smooth round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing and marked, "D&C 1940". The paint is all worn off.
