German WWII > Belt Buckles > DLV >
A 1st pattern RLB EM/NCO Belt Buckle. The first pattern RLB EM/NCO's buckle was almost identical to the buckle worn by the DLV (Deutscher Luftsport Verband). It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been burnished, silver washed and contains black enamel paint work. The obverse roundel depicts an open winged RLB/DLV eagle gripping a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons above a pebbled round background that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The roundel lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse has a soldered on catch and a steel pin sleeve assembly, (the sleeve and prongs are lost to time. Nice crisp detail! It measures 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches high. Nicely marked "RZM 78 PC", (Paulmann Crone) A rare beauty!
