ERICH HARTMANN (1922-1993) German fighter pilot during World War II and the most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. He claimed, and was credited with, shooting down 352 Allied aircraft while serving with the Luftwaffe. Signed print, approx 26" x 20", a monochrome image of Hartmann in front of his Bf-109 fighter, with his Knight's Cross around his neck. Hartmann signs in pencil at the right-hand side, beneath the aircraft. Artist, Michael Wooten.
