A dog themed & personalized Hirschfanger! The single fuller 16 Inch blade is a triple acid etched example. It is correctly stamped with the early 1930's-1935 Eickhorn maker mark. The hunting scene etch is somewhat faded. There is stain and pitting to the blade. There is no sharpening. The factory felt buffer is lost to time. The blade rates VG. The scabbard I believe is a period replacement. These we sold with blued black leather scabbards with blued fittings matching the hilt. It has two decorative lines running the length of the scabbard on both sides. All of the stitching remains intact. Both undented brass fittings have scalloped edges. The upper staple is missing. The Jeweler engraved owner's name is beautifully executed. The clamshell has good detail. The crossguard terminates with stag hooves. The grip is a beauty piece of stag. The top of the pommel is a elaborately hand enhanced dog head. It shows scuff to the reverse ear.
