Here's a rare beast. The 8 inch blade is a nice polished example. It is correctly stamped with the early double oval Eickhorn maker mark. There is no sharpening and the blade is very clean. The factory felt buffer is intact. The tip and fit are perfect. The blade rates NM. The scabbard has fine brown leather with 99% coverage. It depicts two decorative lines running the length of the scabbard on both sides. All of the stitching remains intact. This was issued with a skinner which is lost to time. Both matching brass fittings have scalloped edges. The staples are still intact, peek under the staples and you will see wee numbers. The clamshell has good detail as do the oakleaves design crossguard. The pommel ends an elaborate design. The grip is deep brown/black undamaged stag.
