United Kingdom - The Pacific Star
United Kingdom, Commonwealth, WWII - The Pacific Star. Instituted May 1945, the Pacific Star was awarded to those who served in the Pacific between 1941 and 1945. It is constructed out of a die struck yellow copper zinc alloy base that has been bronze plated. The obverse features the Royal Cypher “GRI VI”, underneath a royal crown surrounded by “The Pacific Star”, on a six-pointed star. The reverse is plain. The top has an integral eyelet and ring which holds 5 inches of red, navy blue, green, yellow and light blue ribbon. The award measures 1 ½ inches wide by 1 ¾ inches tall.
