Private purchase Hunting knife is a mid Period example that can be accurately dated to the late 20's-1933 timeframe by the maker mark. It appears in the 1932 Eickhorn catalogue It has a solid fit and perfect tip! The unsharpened blade rates Exc+, There is age gray and spotting to the blade and a few dark spots. It has been cleaned. The leather sheath shows age and all the stitching remains. The top strap is broken half way through and appears to have been repaired at some point. The nonmagnetic hilt looks great! The horn grip plates are one of the best features of this piece in my opinion. They are multi-tone and are in wonderful condition! They are tightly secured with 6 hand hammered nickel rivets. No cracks, chips or splits. The tang pierces to top of the hilt and has been peened over making for a very strong practical knife. As is typical with these, the scabbard has shrunk somewhat over the past 90 years and the crossguard does not seat on the top of the sheath when inserted but remains about 1/4" above it. I will not force this down further. Rare
