A Heer - 3. Stufe Kraftfahrbewährungsabzeichen in Gold. Awarded upon completing specific award criteria in recognizing driver efforts, ability and vehicle maintenance. It is constructed out of a die stamped steel base that has been gilded and lacquered. The obverse features, in gold; a steering wheel above a textured background surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath with stems to the bottom. It is attached to a round green (army) wool background. The reverse has lost it's a glued-on paper backing. It measures 2 inches in diameter.
