A frosty Army 18 Year Long Service Award! It is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a pattée style cross with a centrally placed closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons / "18" (reverse), encircled above a pebbled background. To the top is an integral loop and ring. Comes mounted on a bar with a pin assembly. Attached to the ribbon, with two prongs, is a silver wash steel Heer eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons. The award measures approximately 1 3/8 inches wide and tall. The right arm has a spot of stain. A good looking piece!
