A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Puma of Solingen. The blade on this one is very nice having almost all the crossgrain intact. The blade shows ha few dots of age. I say that and it's very clean with just witness marks of where the runner's have rested for 80 years. The fit is nice and tight. The blade rates a Exc++. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides good detail with the random pebbling and oak leaf and acorn bands. The scabbard remains dent free and shows plating loss and some oxidizing. The original throat retaining screws remain intact. The alloy based, nickel silver plated generic eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. These fittings show honest wear. The trylon based grip has some chipping towards the reverse ferule fit. Looks like perhaps it was exposed to heart maybe in this area at some point. A great piece.
