Here we have a 2nd Pattern Air force EM/NCO Breast Eagle (Luftwaffe Brustadler)! On blue wool and a black cotton backing is a white cotton machine embroidered 2nd pattern Luftwaffe open winged eagle, clutching a mobile swastika in one of its talons. It shows storage toning. This is unissued. It measures approximately 2 7/8 inches wide by 1 ½ inches tall. A fine piece purchased from Vet’s family. Hans Hillander was originally from Sweden and came to America at age 12. He landed at Omaha on the 3rd day of D-day.
