United States, WWII – Army Air Force Gunner Wing by “Gemsco” - General Embroidery and Military Supply Co of New York. Authorized April 1943. Constructed out of a two-piece die struck sterling silver base that has been chemically burnished and lacquered. The obverse features a downward pointing winged bomb on top of a winged target. The semi-full back reverse is maker marked “Gemsco Sterling”. The butterfly clutch pin backs are sterling and patent marked. It measures 3 1/8 inches wide by 15/16 of an inch tall.
