Miniatur-Traditions-Gauabzeichen Thüringen in Silber. Instituted June 17, 1933, by Gauleiter Fritz Sauckel, this Gau Badge was donated in bronze, silver and gold to the oldest comrades-in-arms in the Gau of Thuringia in recognitions of their merits in the fight for the Third Reich. The lapel version was for every day wear. It is constructed out a die struck 800 silver base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a large right facing eagle with its left wing pointing horizontally, its right wing downward, its tail feathers coming out the bottom left and is clutching, in its talons, a stagnant swastika with “NSDAP” (to the top arm), “Für Treue” (center) and “Thüring-” (bottom). The full back reverse is marked “0.800” and features a soldered-on knurled pin. The face measures 9/16 of an inch wide by 1/2 of an inch tall.
