United States, WWII – G46-8 Combat/Fighting Knife by Western Cutlery Company of Boulder, Colorado (c.1940-41). The 8-inch blued, fullered, single edged, bowie style blade on this one looks excellent. Rare to find these with the blued blade uncleaned. It is nicely maker marked “Western Pat’d.” It shows minor scratches and some pitting towards the spine edge. The three-piece tanned brown leather scabbard is in excellent shape. All of its rivets remain intact. 95% of its stitching remains intact, just minor loss towards the bent tip. The snap remains working well and its strap is in great condition. The hilt compromises of as stamped steel blued crossguard (which has the slightest wiggle and some heavy scratches to the underside), a leather washer grip with red (the backside looks to be pink and may be a replacement), yellow and black spacers ending dual peened-on blued cast iron pommel top. A very nice example!
