Luftwaffen Schirmmütze für Mannschaften und Unterführer der Flakartillerie - G. A. Hoffmann, Berlin 1937. The visor is constructed of blue/grey wool with a horizontally ribbed and interwoven black mohair center-band and red (Flak) identifying waffenfarbe piping. All of the wool is in excellent condition. It has the correct silvered aluminum wreath and black and red painted winged cockade below the correct silvered aluminum 1st pattern Luftwaffe eagle insignia. The black leather chinstrap is in excellent condition, secured with two black enameled buttons. The black/green lacquered vulcanfiber visor peek looks great. A few lines and smudges. The interior is lined in a light brown-red cotton material. The brown leather sweat-band looks excellent, typical sweat marks. The underside cork is mostly gone. The underside of the sweat band is unit marked: “I./Flak A.23.”. The top celluloid sweat diamond is completely intact. It is maker marked, in gold foil: “Die Deutsche Wualitätsmütze”, “Fabrik- Marke G.A.H.” “G. A. Hoffmann Berling S.W. 29 Gneisenaustr. 33”. It is also stamped, in black ink: “1937” and “55 ½”. Overall a very nice example you are sure to be pleased with!
