Canada, WWII - The Cadbury Medal, British Made. An unofficial award, available for purchase, commemorating the, May 17, 1939 to June 15, 1939, royal tour of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, emphasizing Canada’s allegiance to the Crown and its status as the senior dominion of the British Empire, in a build-up to World War II. It is constructed out of a die stamped aluminum alloy base. The round shaped obverse features the crowned, left facing, effigies of King George VI in front of Queen Elizabeth surrounded by: “H. M. George VI Queen Elizabeth”. The reverse reads: “The Cadbury Medal to Commemorate the Visit of King George VI. and Queen Elizabeth to Canada 1939” underneath “British Made”. To the top is a hole, a loop and a ring which holds 2 ½ inches of blue, white and red ribbon. There is also a well working safety pin to the very top. It measures 38.5 mm in diameter.
