A 1. Stufe Nahkampfspange in Bronze by A.G.M.u.K (1.3.2). Instituted November 25, 1942. The Bronze I Stage Close Combat Clasp was awarded for 15 close combat battles. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed and brennlack finished. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a German national eagle. The reverse of the badge correctly displays; a crimped flatwire catch, integral stamped hinge and fluted style pin with a crimped steel blackened backplate. It is also designer and maker marked; “Fec. W. E. Peekhause Berlin” and “Ausf. A.G.M.u.K. Gablonz.”. It measures 3 7/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall. A minty piece!
