Feuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen 2. Stufe am Band 1936 mit der Papiertüte by L. Chr. Lauer of Nürnberg-Berlin. Instituted December 22, 1936, it was awarded to Volunteer Fire Brigade members who had completed 25 years faithful service in the Fire Service. It is constructed out of a two pieces of die stamped nickel-silver that have been silver washed and contains red, white and black enamel work. The obverse features a centrally placed black mobile on a white and black bordered round backing soldered to a Greek style cross that has red flames emanating out of each arm on a white background with a quarter circle going through each arm that, in total, reads: “Für Verdienste Im Feuerlöschwesen” (For Merit in the Fire Brigade). The reverse features a full flat silver back. To the top is a soldered on ball loop and ring. Accompanying the award is 9 ¾ inches of folded white, red and orange rayon ribbon. The award and ribbon comes housed in its appropriate issue packet. The front reads, in black gothic style script: “Feuerwehr- Ehrenzeichen 2. Stufe”. The reverse reads, in the same script: “L. Chr. Lauer Nürnberg-Berlin”. The packet measures approximately 2 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/3 inches tall. Beautiful enamel work and silver wash. A great assembly, a gorgeous display piece!
