A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Kolumbuswerk, Eduard Becker of Solingen The blade on this one is looks good! The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is wonderful and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc++/NM. It shows some stain. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks great. It has a heavily lacquered finish. It has small pressure marks but is dent-free. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed. The ball retains a nice round shape with a bump you have to go looking to find. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “He” (Hessen). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. It has a wee scratch to the obverse. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great example by a rare maker!
