Great Britain, WWII - MK. I Dispatch Riders/Motorcyclist Helmet by Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd. 1944 / Size 6 ¾. The Dispatch Riders Helmet was introduced October, 1942. Stamped steel construction. The body, and reenforced rim, feature a rough-textured olive drab paint. The interior is all complete with its; sheet metal liner-held by four rivets, one to each tongs-, top white cotton HBT liner and string, the thick leather/horse hair padding and leather/wool chinstrap and neck guard. The tan leather interior is maker marked and dated: “BMB 1944” and sized “6 ¾” (within a shield). Great condition.
