United Kingdom, Commonwealth, WWII - The Burma Star. Instituted May 1945, the Burma Star was awarded to those who served in the Burma Campaign from 1941 to 1945. It is constructed out of a die struck yellow copper zinc alloy base that has been bronze plated. The obverse features the Royal Cypher “GRI VI”, underneath a royal crown surrounded by “The Burma Star”, on a six-pointed star. The reverse is plain. The top has an integral eyelet and ring which holds 4 1/4 inches of blue, yellow and red ribbon. The award measures 1 ½ inches wide by 1 ¾ inches tall.
