Very RARE and Early - Luftwaffe Frontflugspange für Kampffliegerr in Gold mit Anhänger “300” by Richard Simm & Söhne of Gablonz. The Gold Bomber Clasp, Kampf und Sturzkampfflieger (Heavy, Medium and Dive-Bomber), with 300 clasp, was awarded for 300 combat missions. It is constructed out of two pieces of die struck tombak / die stamped nickel-silver that has been gold gilded / chemically blackened and covered in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a centrally placed blackened downward pointing “winged-bomb” that is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom with a stagnant swastika and is flanked by four triangular cut outs and two nine-piece oak leaf clusters. To the base is two loops and a hanging clasp which reads: “300” in black, that has a three-piece laurel leaf cluster to either side. The semi-full back reverse features an off-centered rivet, a soldered-on tombak c-shaped catch, soldered-on tombak block hinge and sturdy tapered tombak pin. It also shows two soldered on loops to the base and a full back to the clasp. It displays wonderful detail throughout. It measures 3 inches wide by 1 inch tall. You almost never R.S.&S. clasps in tombak...
