Late war Army Dagger

Here we have a Model 1935 Army Dagger (Reichsheer Offiziersdolch). A rough blade here. This is an unmarked plated example Tthe blade has been ground down on the one cutting edge and looks to never have been finish ground. Who knows why some of this stuff was done, perhaps late -war of put together from parts at the end of the war. What I can tell you is this was purchased from the Vet's daughter. The blade rates a Poor. The original red felt buffer pad remains intact. The undented nickel plated scabbard provides good detail with random pebbling throughout. The scabbard retains its' original throat retaining screw and has minor age. The generic crossguard is crisp with beautiful details throughout especially to the eagles wings, talons and wreath. It is nickle plated with good finish. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The celluloid over plaster grip is chip and crack-free but there are 2 tiny hairlines a couple mm long. It has some dirt to its crevasses but that's about it. Great price, I would jump on it before someone else does!
