A Deutsches Reiterabzeichen 3. Klasse Bronze mit Miniatur im Etui 1930 by L. Chr. Lauer of Nürnberg-Berlin. The German Rider Badge was introduced in this form on April 9, 1930 by the Reich Association for the Breeding and Testing of German Warmblood. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed and chemically blackened. The oval shaped obverse features a man riding a horse encircled by an oak leaf wreath with an encircled “R” (Reiter - Rider) to the bottom. The semi-hollow back reverse is maker marked: “L. Chr. Lauer, Nürnberg” and “Gesetzlich Geschützt”. It also features a soldered on flat wire catch, soldered on block hinge and flat wire pin. All of which are in well working condition. It measures 1 5/8 inches wide by 2 inches tall. Accompanying the badge is the appropriate miniature. The reverse reads: “Lauer NBG” and features a soldered on round plate knurled tombac stickpin.
