Silver Drivers Proficiency Badge in Issue Case
A Heer - 2. Stufe Kraftfahrbewährungsabzeichen in Silber im Etui by Rudolf Souval of Vienna. Awarded upon completing specific award criteria in recognizing driver efforts, ability and vehicle maintenance. It is constructed out of a multi piece die stamped alloy base that has been silver washed. The obverse features, in silver; a steering wheel above a textured background surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath with stems to the bottom, attached to a round green (army) wool background. The reverse features a glued-on paper backing. It measures 2 1/16 inches in diameter. The award comes house in its original tan issue paper packet. The obverse reads, in red print: “Kraftfahrbewährungsabzeiche Silber” (Automotive probation badge). The reverse is maker marked reading, in black: “Rudolf Souval Wien VII/62” on a rectangular border. It measures 2 5/16 inches wide by 4 1/16 inches tall. A nice unissued example!
