Here's a very fairly priced example. The 16 inch blade is a triple acid etched example. It is correctly stamped with the early, pre-1933 single oval Eickhorn maker mark. The etch is nice and clear light having highly detailed panels depicting hunting scenes. There is no sharpening and the blade is very clean. The factory felt buffer is intact. The blade does not fully insert staying less than a half inch out with normal pressure. This is a common issue on these pieces. The blade rates Exc+. The scabbard has fine black leather with 99% coverage. It depicts two decorative lines running the length of the scabbard on both sides. All of the stitching remains intact. Both matching brass fittings have scalloped edges. The staples are still intact, peek under the staples and again you will see wee numbers. There are some scuffs that have been cleaned up with shoe polish. The clamshell has good detail as do the hooves design crossguard. The pommel has the tang correctly peened through it. The grip is stag with nice brass acorns.
