Goldene Hitlerjugend Abzeichen. The Gold Hitler Youth Honor Badge was introduced on June 23rd 1934 by the Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach. It was awarded those in the HJ, DJ, BDM and NSS who had maintained unbroken membership prior to the first National Youth Rally at Potsdam (1-2 October, 1932). It could also have been awarded for five years of uninterrupted service or for meritorious service, regardless of time served. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been gold fire gilded and contains black, white and red enamel work. The rhomboid diamond shaped obverse depicts the Hitler Youth emblem, which consists of; a black mobile swastika above a gold square diamond which is surrounded by alternating white and red translucent pebbled quadrants and is all surrounded by a golden border. The full back reverse has a raised maker mark “RZM M1/120” (Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid) and is marked “B”, with the correct safety pin hinge and catch assembly. It measures 1 1/8 inches tall by 11/16 of an inch wide. This has some enamel damage as shown.
