1854 Pattern Sword for an officer of the Scots Guards

Blue shagreen grip with silver and brass wire wrap showing only very minor chipping at edges. Blade very good, with light oxidation and small areas of very shallow pitting. Blade extensively etched with floral décor and battle honors, including Balaklava, Inkermann, Waterloo, Peninsula, Barrosa, Talavera, Egypt, and Lincelles, with two empty banners for future honors. Also bearing the regimental badge of the Scots Guards and the owner’s crest, and etched with the maker’s inscription: Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, and serial numbered 7305 (= 1855 as the year of manufacture). Iron scabbard with two suspension rings.
