1st Model Navy Dagger by Eickhorn with Hand-chased Scabbard

A M1929 - 1st Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by Eickhorn. The plain double fullered blade on this one looks good. The stamped single oval maker mark is lightly executed. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates NM. The buffer pad remains intact. The extra cost hand-chased scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. large areas with the fire gulding remain. It depicts nice details with oak leaves and fish scales. It has wear but no dents. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The release button functions perfectly. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded matching the wear and patina of the scabbard. the pommel assembly is the 3rd way shown in Witty's Navy book of securing the pommel. Wittmann calls this a "long-sleeve nut with a spanner". Not very technical, but visualize it, and how it's used. The hand-enhanced pommel is beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in off-white celluloid. It continues to remain in great shape with the odd rub mark but no cracks, chips or splits! The brass double twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact! A nice dagger with a nylon portepee. This was obtained from Witty in 2011 I will include his description.
