Nice quality, Feuerschutzpolizei NCO’s visor cap features a deep navy blue wool body, a black velvet centerband and Feuerschutzpolizei carmine wool truppenfarbe, (Branch of service color), piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. The front center of the cap has a three-piece national tri-color cockade consisting of a stamped, black, fluted, alloy base, roundel and an inset red central dot. The front center of the centerband has a stamped, two-piece, nickel/silver plated, white frosted, first pattern, (circa April 1934- June 1936), alloy, police eagle encompassed by a vertically oval oak-leaf wreath. The nicely detailed, left facing eagle features extended, tapered, pointed wing tips and is braze mounted on the vertically oval laurel leaf wreath with the eagle’s wings extending beyond the outer edges of the wreath. The detailing includes feathering to the wings, veins to the laurel leaves and a pebbled field to the swastika. The cap has a blackened leather chinstrap with two sheet metal sliding length adjustment buckles. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two, small black painted, sheet metal buttons. The cap has an extended, forward, black lacquered, vulcanfibre visor with a subtly raised lip to the forward edge. The interior crown of the cap is lined with an orangish/tan oilcloth lining while the body of the cap is lined in rayon. The oilcloth crown lining has a fully intact, clear celluloid sweat diamond machine stitched in place. The crown lining has gold printed manufacturer logo beneath the sweat diamond. The interior of the cap also has a wide tan leather sweatband with ventilation perforations to the front forehead section. The cap has no visible size markings and is ca. size 57. Nice!
