A model 1938 hewer for enlisted men/NCOs of the Teno (Technical Emergency Corps) Exceptionally nice burnished nickel-plated hilt fittings with ivory-colored celluloid grip plates retained by two screws. Black lacquered steel scabbard rates 95% exhibiting minor age. Silver-plated fittings retaining traces of lacquer. Scabbard throat stamped with matching “4388”. Massive single-edged hewer blade exhibits mild age and has been retipped. Reverse etched with Carl Eickhorn 1935-41 logo and TeNo acceptance “Ges. Gesch.”. Obverse etched with “4388”. Length 40.5cm.
