A solid late war example. The bright unmarked blade on this one looks good! It''s been cleaned and has some evidence of where the runners have rested on the blade for the past 80 years. It has a wee wiggle when you shake it. common on these zinc hilts as the metal has slightly shrunk over the years. The blade rates Exc+. It shows minor surface scratching and age graying throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel scabbard is in matching condition! It shows wear and scratches. It remains completely dent free. Looks o me like the kid scratched his initials into the obverse. The folded brown leather strap retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work very well! The leather is in great condition. The hilt is constructed out of a zinc-alloy base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in good condition, being 90%+ intact. The two black checkered, bakelite grip plates are tightly secured to the hilt by two steel rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a beautiful HJ diamond.
