A great price on this one! The blade on this one has been cleaned hard, most likely with a Brillo pad or such as there are fine longitudinal scratches running lengthwise down the blade. It still looks ok. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "C. Remscheid & Co. REMEVE Solingen-Aufderhohe" maker mark are both dark and clear. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates a Exc. It shows heavy age greying/spotting and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks wonderful, and is this pieces best feature! It remains completely dent free, holds a beautiful brown finish and retains 80%+ of its original factory lacquer! There is minor oxidization spotting. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent. The ball retains it's basic shape with a bump to the very bottom making it a bit flat. All four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "No" (Nordsee). The redwood chip and crack-free grip is nice. The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit and shows beautiful detail. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. This one looks to never have been apart.
