A Very Rare, Presentation Model 1933 SS- Sportschule Fürth Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Roberts Klaas of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto, “Gewidmet v. SS- Sportschule Fürth 1934” school inscription and kissing kranes “Robert Klaas Solingen” maker mark are all beautifully executed. Crossgrain remains visible as you shine it in the light. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. It has been professionally cleaned and shows age staining. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks wonderful! It continues to remain completely dent free and continues to hold 10% of its original factory lacquer. The nickel-silver scabbard fittings look excellent. The ball has a few bruises to its bottom, yet it holds a nice round shape. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is near perfect. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in excellent condition as well. They have some verdigris to the edges. The black died hardwood grip is in great condition. There is a flake to the front edge and a hairline crack above the roundel. The solid nickel-silver eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Comes with a nice early vertical hanger. A very rare piece I am pleased to offer!
