SS-Ehrenring der Waffen SS-Oberführer Otto Reich (5.12.1891 – 20.9.1955) – Concentration Camp Kommandant of the Konzentrationslager Lichtenburg. This ring is dated June 30th 1934 (30.6.34) and is a 11 1/2 size (21.2mm inside diameter). The SS Honor Ring was a personal gift bestowed by Himmler intended as “reminder at all times to be willing to risk the life of ourselves for the life of the whole” and would become one of the highest honors bestowed upon a man of the elite SS. The SS honor ring was designed by Karl Maria Wiligut and produced solely by master gold/silversmiths Otto & Karolina Gahr of Munich. The exterior displays a Totenkopf, sig rune, hagal rune swastika and a double gibor and bind rune. It is engraved: “S. lb. Reich 30.6.34 H. Himmler”. Interior exhibits a textbook inscription, engraved nicely into the ring. His SS number is 289 356. A beautiful, early, high ranking SS Concentration Camp Kommandant officers ring….
Included is an expertise from Don Boyle stating “Honor Ring in near mint condition has nice seam and engraving”, Otto Reich highlighted SS Dienstaltersliste’s pages, a framed photo of Reich and a SS wooden stand.
