12. Deutsches Turnfest 12-16. Juli 1863-1913. 50th Anniversary Badge in Lipzeg by Gustav Brehmer of Markneukirchen. It is constructed out of a die struck brass base that has been burnished. The round shaped obverse features a male gymnast standing on a pedestal with his forearms raised, in front of the city of Leipzig and flanked by “1863” (left), “1913” (right) along with “12. Deutsches Turnfest” (left) and “Leipzig 12.-16. Juli” (right). To the top half exterior is an oak leaf wreath and a hole for the ribbon. The full back reverse reads: “Entwurf von Hans Zeissig Leipzig Abzeichenfabr. Brehmer Markneukirchen”. It features a re-soldered on brass pin assembly. The award measures 2 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. The ribbon is constructed out of a red and white twil cotton fabric and is well worn. A unique piece!
