Rare, especially with a surviving scabbard!! Made at the Springfield armory for the M1835 and M1842 musket. The M1842 musket was used extensively through the Civil War. This has a US marked triangular blade, (later made illegal due to the difficulty caring for these wounds). The scabbard is a 1839 pattern designed for the shoulder belt attachment. It has black leather with intact stitching and copper/brass fittings.
