U.S. WW1 Hospital Corps Knife Model 1914

his knife is marked "US" over "38822" on ricasso. Reverse stamped "SA" over "Flaming Bomb" over "1914". The bright blade is very clean and free of sharpening. The brass guard, rivets and pommel cap wear a nice dark patina. Grips show scratches and normal period wear. Scabbard is stamped "9.N.Y.H.022 Rock Island/Arsenal/1910. T.T.C." and "69 N.Y. INF 20" lightly stamped across the body, sorry I can't picture it but trust me it's there. Scabbard has blued steel clip with nickel finished throat. A large five inch cut from the blade being inserted crooked runs down back of sheath. Otherwise leather is strong with tight seams. The blued belt hanger retains A very nice clean example of this classic American service knife that would be difficult to upgrade.
