Order of the Rising Sun 8th Class

旭日章 Kyokujitsu-shō. The Order of the Rising Sun was awarded for long and/or especially meritorious civil or military service. It is constructed out of a die-struck silver-alloy mirror like base. The obverse features the 5-3 Paulownia, consisting of three leaves and an inflorescence of 3-5-3 flowers. The full back reverse features four kanji characters. To the top is a ball loop and ring. The award measures 1 1/4 inches wide and tall. It comes with its appropriate rosette.
